About GLS Emergency Lighting
Our founder, Steve Wriggle, has more than 35 years in Occupational and Fire Safety and firmly believes safety should be built into everything we do. His past and present credentials include Structural and Industrial Firefighter, Certified Fire and Explosives Investigator (CFEI), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). Tired of seeing safety get viewed as an add-on luxury, Steve set out to improve everyday emergency EXIT signs. Years of observing testing behavior in the field showed him that those performing the monthly checks often failed to press manual test buttons for the full 30 seconds and thus failed to meet NFPA/IFC requirements. In other cases, employees had to navigate fall risks and electrical hazards to complete the task.
Partnering with a USMC Combat/disabled Iraq veteran, Steve founded GLS Lighting to assist all end-users of the emergency EXIT sign and lighting industry. Focused on mitigating safety hazards and lowering costs on time, labor, and contract testing, GLS Lighting has designed, developed, and patented the “One Touch” testing feature. Paired with our higher visibility design and competitive pricing, this innovative and easy-to-use tool can help save time, money, and lives in the workplace.
Our Lighthouse Logo showcases our company's mission: to help our customers navigate through the turbulent waters of compliance. Steve is currently hard at work with multiple patents pending in areas including lighting, wearable tech, security, fall protection, and other environmental safety areas.
