About GLS Emergency Lighting
Founded by safety veteran Steve and USMC Veteran Rich, GLS Lighting was born to solve a real-world problem: failure of traditional emergency exit testing. Our patented “One Touch” system eliminates the fall risks and labor-intensive manual checks that lead to non-compliance and possible fines.
With over 35 years in fire and occupational safety, Steve recognized a dangerous pattern: critical safety checks were skipped or improperly performed because they were too difficult, time-consuming, or hazardous to perform. Steve believed that safety should be built-in and integrated improving the human experience. After years of observing field teams struggle to meet Life Safety requirements due to electrical hazards and impractical testing standards, Steve knew there was a better way.
Teaming up with co-founder Rich—a USMC Combat Veteran—they launched GLS Lighting to bridge the gap between compliance and common sense. Replacing outdated, cumbersome testing with our patented “One Touch” technology. By making emergency lighting easier to test and more visible, we help you expedite testing and inspections, eliminate fall risks, reduce labor costs, and most importantly ensure your compliance is met when it matters most.
Mission
To safeguard lives through human-centric lighting innovation to empower safer communities.
Vision: To revolutionize the safety industry with cutting-edge technology that makes compliance effortless and premium protection accessible to everyone.
Values: The 4-D’s
Our DNA is defined by four core pillars that guide all we do:
Dedication
Your safety is our obsession, safety is never a luxury, it’s a right.
Discipline
We provide reliable lighting you need to work confidently without incident.
Desire
We are fueled by the desire to protect the people who rely on our products.
Dependability
Through continuous innovation and American craftsmanship, we build products you can trust when it matters most.
Our Commitment
When industry giants told us our vision for human‑centric compliance lighting was “unnecessary,” we knew they weren’t listening to the people who actually perform the work. We set out to prove that world‑class safety innovation doesn’t need a corporate giant’s permission.
At GLS Emergency Lighting, our long‑term goal is to bring production home and create jobs for American workers. We’re not interested in building just another line of safer products—we’re working to build a factory that restores the innovation, craftsmanship, and opportunity that big industry overlooked.
We’re not just lighting the way; we’re proving that the best safety solutions should be made and built right here in our own communities.
From all of us at GLS Emergency Lighting, thank you for your support.
